I earned my Master’s Degree from Wayne State University in 2004, and my Bachelor's Degree from the University of Michigan in 2000. I am a Licensed School Counselor as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor.
Prior to joining the team at Clara B. Ford Academy in 2010, I spent five years as a High School Counselor in the city of Detroit; and prior to working as a High School Counselor, I was employed as a foster care therapist for several years. My passion is to assist young men and women with becoming healthy, successful individuals via educational and emotional development. Here at Clara B. Tutoring Information
The most important aspect of making sure that each student is achieving to their best ability is to make sure they are keeping up to date with assignments in class. This includes the class work, projects, notes, and readings.
Each class contains a container where extra copies of work, direction for projects and class copies of notes are located. In addition, each teacher has content specific resources within their webpages to assist with tutoring students.
All of our students could also use assistance with strengthening specific soft skills. The soft skills we have collectively identified are:
1. Accountability
2. Team-working
3. Respect
4. Helping Others
5. Motivation
6. Organization & Planning
