Students/Advocates

Students:
Clara B Ford Academy (CBF) provides educational services for females, grades 5-12.  Average student enrollment at CBF is 130.

CBF serves students that reside or have resided on Vista Maria’s campus. All former residents of Vista Maria are invited to continue their education in the Continuing Student Program (CS) at CBF.

Student Advocates:
Our unique population may have support from persons other than parents such as: foster parents, guardians, DHS workers, therapist, and others. For these supports CBF have adopted the term “Student Advocate”.

At Clara B Ford we are proud of the relationship that we have with Student Advocates. Collaboration between CBF and Student Advocates can be found through the following resources.

Power School-Parent Portal:
Power School-Parent Portal is one of the resources offered to Student Advocates that allow access to your student’s attendance, grades, assignments and more!  Student Advocates will be provided with User name and Password from Clara B. Ford.  If you do not have User name or Password, contact Ms. Crutchfield at (313)436-0020.

School Reach:
An additional resource for Student Advocates is School Reach.  Instant Parent Contact notifies Student Advocates of important information including school closings, emergency announcements, Student Advocate conference reminders and more.

Food Service Advisory Board

Want input into what your students are eating at school?  Here is your opportunity to join our advisory board and provide your input. President Obama signed into law the Healthy Huger Free Act of 2010.  This was done to help combat the epidemic of childhood obesity as well as the urgent problem of childhood hunger.

What does this mean for your school meals?  More healthy lean proteins, whole grains, multiple fruit and vegetable offerings!

To join the committee or for more information please contact:  Carey Simkanin, Director of Dining Service at 313.271.3050 ex 155.
